BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED GEOLOGY

Programme Overview

The study of geology applies various branches of science to understand Earth processes, composition and its evolution. Its scope ranges from the study of minerals and rocks under the microscope to plate tectonics at the global scale. The broad spectrum of knowledge gained provides excellent opportunities for working in a variety of industries worldwide. Geology is important for the development of mineral, hydrocarbon and groundwater resources, the understanding of natural hazards, the remediation of environmental problems, and for providing insights into past climate change. Geology also plays a role in engineering projects.
