General Entry Requirements

For applicants with a CGPA of not less than 3.00:
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a CGPA of not less than 3.00; or

For applicants with a CGPA of 2.50 – 2.99 (must fulfill at least one of the following):
  • Graduate from University Malaya; or
  • Accumulate at least one (1) year of work experience in related fields; or
  • Produce publications in related field; or
  • Receive a scholarship; or
  • Serve as a staff member of a government agency; or
  • Pass an interview conducted by Faculty; or
  • Pass a Special evaluation by Faculty.

    • Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in the first specialization fields (CGPA: 2.70 - 2.99)

      Must fulfill at least ONE of the following criteria:

      • At least six (6) months of work experience in education-related fields; or
      • Pass a written test determined by the Faculty of Education; or
      • Other qualifications recognize as equivalent and approved by the Senate from time to time; or
      • Other qualification recognized by the Government of Malaysia and equivalent and approved by the Senate

      OR

    • Applicants for the specialization in Tahfiz Education
      • Possess a Tahfiz qualification at the certificate or diploma level; AND
      • Possess a relevant Bachelor's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in a related specialization

      OR

    • Applicants for the specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)

      Must fulfill at least ONE of the following English proficiency qualifications:

      • MUET with a score of at least Band 4.0; or
      • IELTS with a score of at least Band 6.0; or
      • TEOFL with a score of at least 80 (IBT); or
      • Other English language qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time
      • A Scholarship holder; or
      • A Government servant; or
      • Pass an interview by PTj; or
      • Pass a Special Assessment by PTj; or

    • AND

  • Program - Specific Requirments

    Must fulfill at least ONE of the following English proficiency qualifications:

    1. Pass the Malaysian Educators Selection Inventory (MEdsi) Test or other psychometric test approved by the Faculty of Education
    2. Pass the interview by the Faculty of Education
