This programme will produce experts in the field of visual arts, who are able to plan and implement either in the public or private sector to realize national aspirations in creative knowledge and practice.

Entry Requirement

General Entry Requirements

For applicants with a CGPA of not less than 3.00:
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a CGPA of not less than 3.00; or

For applicants with a CGPA of 2.50 – 2.99 (must fulfill at least one of the following):
  • Graduate from University Malaya; or
  • Accumulate at least one (1) year of work experience in related fields; or
  • Produce publications in related field; or
  • Receive a scholarship; or
  • Serve as a staff member of a government agency; or
  • Pass an interview conducted by Faculty; or
  • Pass a Special evaluation by Faculty.

Specific Entry Requirements

  • General University Requirements: Fulfill the General University Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Qualification: Possessed a Bachelor's of Education in specific field of Art or Bachelor's degree with Education in specific field of Art.

  • Related Fields: Visuals Arts, Arts and Design, Visual Communication, Digital Technology
  • Special Requirements:


    • Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in related field (CGPA: ≥ 3.00)

      Must fulfill at least ONE of the following criteria:

      • Possessed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (minimum CGPA 3.00); or
      • Teaching Qualification recognized by the university; or
      • At least One (1) year teaching experience in a related field; or
      • Professional qualification from a recognized professional body; or
      • Other qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time


      OR

    • Applicants with a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor's Degree with Education (CGPA: 2.70 - 2.99)

      Must fulfill at least ONE of the following criteria:

      • UM graduate; or
      • At least two (2) years teaching experience in a related field; or
      • Published in a related field; or
      • A Scholarship holder; or
      • A Government servant; or


      OR

    • Applicants with a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor's Degree with Education(CGPA: 2.50 - 2.69)

      Must fulfill at least TWO of the following criteria:

      • UM graduate; or
      • At least Three (3) years teaching experience in a related field; or
      • Published in a related field; or
      • A Scholarship holder; or
      • A Government servant; or
      • Pass an interview by PTj; or
      • Pass a Special Assessment PTj; or
