General Entry Requirements
For applicants with a CGPA of not less than 3.00:
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a CGPA of not less than 3.00; or
For applicants with a CGPA of 2.50 – 2.99 (must fulfill at least one of the following):
Graduate from University Malaya; or
Accumulate at least one (1) year of work experience in related fields; or
Produce publications in related field; or
Receive a scholarship; or
Serve as a staff member of a government agency; or
Pass an interview conducted by Faculty; or
Pass a Special evaluation by Faculty.

Related Fields: A Bachelor's Degree in the discipline of Social Sciences.
Special Requirements:
Applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with CGPA ≥ 3.00
Must fulfil at least ONE of the following criteria:
Accumulate at least one (1) year of work experience in the helping profession; OR
Hold a Professional Qualification in the helping profession from a recognized professional body; OR
Hold other qualifications approved by the Senate from time to time
Applicants with a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling
Possess a CGPA of 2.70 - 2.99:
Must fulfil BOTH of the following criteria:
Accumulate at least two (2) years of work experience in the helping profession; AND
Fulfil at least ONE of the following criteria:
Graduate from Universiti Malaya (UM); OR
Hold a professional qualification in the helping profession from a recognized professional body; OR
Receive a scholarship award; OR
Serve in a government agency.
Possess a CGPA of 2.50 - 2.69
Must fulfil BOTH of the following criteria:
Accumulate at least three (3) years of work experience in the helping profession; AND
Fulfil at least ONE of the following criteria:
Graduate from Universiti Malaya (UM); OR
Hold a professional qualification in the helping profession from a recognized professional body; OR
Receive a scholarship award; OR
Serve in a government agency.
