Accreditation is the formal recognition that a certificate, diploma, or degree complies with the standards set under the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF). It provides assurance to students, parents, and employers that the programme has undergone quality assurance processes. Accreditation is also a legal requirement for recognition by the Public Service Department (PSD) and other employers, particularly in the public sector.
Accredited programmes confer specific entitlements. Students enrolled in such programmes are eligible to apply for PTPTN loans and other approved financial assistance. They are also entitled to pursue further studies, including credit transfer to other recognised institutions.Graduates of accredited programmes qualify for employment in the public sector and are generally accepted by private sector employers. In addition, institutions offering accredited programmes may, with prior approval, franchise these programmes to other institutions. Accreditation functions both as a guarantee of quality and as a statutory requirement for recognition, ensuring compliance with the national education framework
