Programme Overview

The Doctor in Pediatric Dentistry (DrPaedDent) is a 3-year, full-time program with 30% research component, designed for dental graduates with a master's degree who wish to pursue specialist training in Pediatric Dentistry. The course aims to produce specialists who are clinically competent in the field of Pediatric Dentistry and are able to function as members of the health care delivery system with the highest standards of professional ethics while adapting to the changing needs of the community.

  • Possess a Master's Degree in Oral Science form UM and other equivalent qualifications in related fields; AND;
  • Possess an accredited and recognized Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree or equivalent Degree.

  • Special Requirements: Applicants with qualifications other than a Master of Oral Science from UM must pass the interview and other requirements set by the Faculty as below:

    • At Least two (2) years of clinical practice after the Bachelor's Degree, excluding Master's training.
    • Registered with the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) and maintain an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for national candidates.
    • Proof of registration with the Dental Regulatory Body from another country for international candidates.
