Entry Requirement

General Entry Requirements
  • Possess a Master's Degree with Honours/Distinction in Dentistry, Medicine, or any Science discipline by Research; OR
  • Possess a Master's Degree with Honours/Distinction in Dentistry by Clinical; OR
  • Possess a Master’s Degree with Honours/Distinction in Dentistry, Medicine or any science discipline by Coursework or Mixed Mode with a CGPA of no less than 3.00; OR
  • Possess a Master’s Degree by Coursework or Mixed Mode with a CGPA of 2.50 to 2.99, fulfill at least one (1) of the following criteria:
    • At least Three (3) year working experience in a related field; or
    • Produce Publication in a related field; or
    • Receive a scholarship award; or
    • UM graduate; or
    • A Government servant; or
    • Pass an interview by Faculty; or
    • Pass a Special Assessment by Faculty.
    • OR

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL.A) and other qualifications approved by the Senate;
    • A Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Dentistry and any science discipline; AND
    • Evidence of adequate training and ability to undertake the degree program of study; OR
    • A Bachelor's Degree with distinction (CGPA 3.7 and above or equivalent) subject to monitoring of the
    • A presentation of candidate's research progress in one semester at a seminar within two semester from the date of initial registration.
Specific Entry Requirements
  • General University Requirements: Fulfill the General University Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree with a CGPA of not less than 3.00 out of 4.00 or equivalent from a recognized university as approved by the Senate.
  • Master’s Degree Qualification: A Master's Degree in a related field with a CGPA of not less than 3.00 out of 4.00 or equivalent from a recognized university as approved by the Senate.
  • Equivalent Qualification: N/A
  • Related Fields: Business Management, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, Statistics, Information System Management, Psychology, Economics, Accounting, Operation, Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies.
  • Special Requirements: For applications for admission to the Doctoral program by Research through prior or retrospective publications, the following are required:
    • Applicants must meet the admission requirement set by the University for the Doctoral program an MUST have publications that contribute to scholarly knowledge in the relevant in the relevant field.
    • Additional admission requirements:
      1. University teachers at the time of their application for admission as applicants must have had not less than (3) years of service as teachers and be active in the University service; OR
      2. Applicants must have publications that contribute to scholarly knowledge in the relevant field and have been recognized among academic or others in their field of expertise and certified by the Application Evaluation Committee.
    • Candidates must NOT have any Doctoral degree qualifications by research from the University or other universities.
